What does an arched arm add compared to a straight one? The arch extends the shower head's reach away from the wall, positioning it more centrally over the standing area. Will unlacquered brass rust? No — brass does not rust; it patinas, developing a protective oxidized layer rather than degrading like iron-based metals.
